Welcome, Autumn!

It's officially autumn! Yay! This could be my favorite time of year... but I say the same about the springtime too! Since the temperature has cooled down a bit, we've had a chance to enjoy things outside... camping, fishing, the zoo, the park, and some good ole playing in our own backyard! The kids are loving it!

Here are a few pics from a day of fishing & hanging out on the tailgate of the truck (turkey-calling):

Wilson started MDO two days a week, and he absolutely LOVES it! He asks almost every day "do I have school today?" even though he knows he only gets to go on Tuesday & Thursday. He has learned so much at school and seems to be growing up so fast! He can write some letters now, and recognizes all letters and numbers. He loves to write the letter W... because he knows it "spells Wilson". He brings home some great art projects each day, and always gets good reports from his teacher. She tells us that he is a "joy" to have in her class! He apparently saves all of his "misbehaving" to share with us at home :) This reminds me of a little girl I used to know!

Isabella just celebrated her 2nd birthday "Tinkerbell-style". This year Brigid & I decided to let the girls (Isabella & Audrey) celebrate their birthday parties together, since their b-days are just 2 days apart & we invite pretty much the same guests. It was a successful party at the park, complete with awesome weather, yummy pizza, and beautiful tinkerbell cakes!

Isabella is talking non-stop, in complete sentences, and keeping up with her big brother. She absolutely adores Wilson! So sweet! They are always together, except when Wilson is at school (Isabella loves those days spent with mommy & daddy!). She can still be quite a handful, and is still a total mommy's girl... but she is becoming more independent every day. She's a pro at ignoring us when she wants to (Micheal says she's stubborn!). But she's as sweet as pie when she wants to be! The cutest thing is that she says "I LOVE IT!" with so much enthusiasm! At her birthday party she said "I love it!" each time she opened a gift. It makes you feel so good! And this sweet little girl is really lovin' some "girly" stuff these days.. Barbies, baby dolls and princesses! But she still enjoys some Star Wars lightsaber fights with her brother ;)

Enjoying the Springtime

So, I guess I'll catch up on the past 4 months (because it's been THAT long since I've posted anything). This blog needs a little TLC!

We have been enjoying the springtime! It's so nice to be able to play outside every day, get some fresh air & a little vitamin D from the sun. Wilson & Isabella are both little monkeys on their playset and at the park. I don't think either one of them has a fear of heights, and they both want to swing "higher mommy!" on the swingset.

Isabella is saying a lot of new words & putting words together more. You probably still can't understand most of what she says... but we do! Her favorite is still "Hold me mommy!". She absolutely LOVES Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, Elmo & Cookie Monster, and Lightning McQueen. Every single morning she wakes up & says "want milk" then "want bar" (meaning a Nutrigrain bar) and then points upstairs & says "Mickey Mouse" or "Handy Manny" (meaning she wants to watch tv). She's also in love with her baby doll. So sweet! She loves to cuddle & kiss her babies, and has to have a certain one in bed with her every night. She's all around a sweet little girl... except when she wants to throw a fit. She can certainly throw a fit! She reminds me of what Nana always says "when she was good, she was very good... and when she was bad, she was horrid!"

Our little Wilson is coming up on his third birthday in a few weeks... I can hardly believe it! He is "all boy" as they say. Very inquisitive... trying to learn his limits (and our limits!)... independent... and very smart (he gets that part from me). His favorite things are going fishing with daddy, superheroes (especially The Incredibles) and anything from the Cars movie. Word on the street is that there's going to be a sequel to Cars coming out this summer... and I can't wait for us to take him to see it at the movie theater! He really takes care of Isabella and is always "looking out" for her. He is my little helper. He always says HE is a superhero! Oh, and his imagination is huge!

Ok... so here's our past few months in pictures:

We've been doing a little Easter Egg hunting...

Just hanging around... and learning to share...

Planting our garden (Wilson says we are growing "pancakes & syrup"...

Going fishing at the lake...

And eating popcicles on a hot day...

A boy & his daddy

getting caught up...

Wilson is getting to be SUCH a big boy! He is incredibly sweet and a wonderful big brother. He really watches out for Isabella and lets us know if she's doing something wrong (or dangerous). He always asks us "Mommy/Daddy, what's your favorite movie?" and then when we ask the same question of him, he responds "Cars". Of course! Santa brought him a workshop/tool-bench and he's always playing with the tools, fixing things around the house. Santa also brought Wilson and daddy both lightsabers! So, needless to say, there are lots of lightsaber fights around our home. This week, his new thing has been "Oh, no, Mommy! There's a dragon in our house! I gotta go slay the dragon!" Where did his little imagination come from?

My sweet little Isabella is getting SO big too! She is 15 months now! She is still a mommy's girl and loves to be held a lot. But, she's getting more & more independent every day. She absolutely loves to play with Wilson. He can make her laugh so hard! She loves to play with his tools and trains. Her favorite "girl" toy is her tea set. We have lots of little tea parties (Wilson loves to be a part of this too!). She can walk really well now, and is talking quite a bit, too! She says new words every day. Her personality is definitely coming out... and we think she's gonna be a little stinker! But an absolutely gorgeous little stinker (if I do say so myself)!

Wilson loves to do anything that Daddy does. For about 2 months now, every night when we put Wilson to bed he says "Mommy, I gotta tell you something" and so I lean down close to him and he says "Tell Daddy I wanna go fishing tomorrow." I say "ok" but it has just been WAY too cold for them to go. Well, last week it warmed up quite a bit, so we headed to the lake. Wilson & Isabella spent most of their time feeding their graham crackers to the ducks... but Wilson & Daddy did a little fishing, too!

Yep, she's part monkey! This babydoll climbs on everything! She's got pretty good balance & hasn't had any bad falls yet... yet! She loves to climb the "rock wall" and then come back down on the slide!

Wilson doesn't cooperate with the camera very often these days!

Isabella loves to wear Wilson's safety goggles as she plays with his power tools!

WE GOT SOME SNOW!!!
